What causes sensitivity and irritation of the vulva?    

Before during or post menopause, vaginal tissue integrity lessens due to a reduction in oestrogen, leading, in some women, to increased sensitivity and irritation. These symptoms are exacerbated by friction type movements including sexual ‘inter’ or ‘outer’ course.  These symptoms can occur after childbirth, during breast feeding, as a side effect of medication, or as a result of chemotherapy or radiation.

Cycling and other types of exercise, plus tight clothing, can also be causes. It can also be cyclical, i.e., on certain days of the month you may be more susceptible.

In addition, these symptoms can also be side effects of medication or a result of chemotherapy or radiation.

Use Nu if you are experiencing dryness and discomfort, dyspareunia (painful sex) and when returning to sex following childbirth. It can be used for perineal massage pre childbirth. You can use Nu as a pre and post exercise balm and with silicone dilators or sex toys (just make sure you clean them thoroughly to maintain their quality).
